New Preschool Story Time Day for the SCPLS King Family Library

The SCPLS King Family Library preschool story time program will change from Wednesday to Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. beginning on Thursday, March 3. The story time programs are designed with a ready-to-read format that includes an introduction to the alphabet, colors, numbers 1-10, great books, games, and other activities. Each month has a new theme from September through June including topics like the weather, holidays, science, math, and art. The following list includes the day and time the story time programs are held at each location:   

 

·         Seymour Branch Library, 137 W. Macon Lane, Seymour on Mondays starting at 11:00 a.m. For more information, please call Spence Perry at 573-0728.

·         Sevier County King Family Library, 408 High Street, Sevierville on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call Vickie Kelly at 365-1423.

·         Kodak Branch Library, 319 W. Dumplin Valley Road, Kodak on Fridays at 11:00 a.m. For more information, call Kelly Hamilton at 933-0078.

 

FAMILY PJ STORY TIME AT THE SCPLS KING FAMILY LIBRARY

Families are invited to a story telling event at the SCPLS King Family Library on the first Monday of each month – PJ Story Time! Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are welcome to wear pajamas, bring a blankie and listen to stories on Monday, March 7 @ 5:30 p.m.

The special story time will be in the Children’s Room on the second floor of the King Family Library, 408 High Street, in Sevierville. Cookies and juice will be served to program attendees. For more information or to register for the program, contact Vickie Kelly at (865) 365-1423.

 

 

SCPLS KODAK TEENS ON FIRE 4 BOOKS! TEEN BOOK CLUB

The Kodak Branch of the Sevier County Public Library System began a new book club for teens in grades 7 – 12. The Kodak Teens on Fire 4 Books club meets monthly at the library located at 319 West Dumplin Valley Road in Kodak. Teens receive the book from the Kodak Branch Library collection for the upcoming month during the month prior to the club meeting so that the teens have time to read the book.

The next meeting, Thursday, March 25, starts at 4:30 p.m. March’s teen book pick is “After” by Amy Efaw. Teens are invited to discuss the book, enjoy snacks, and develop friendships. SEVIER COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM PRESCHOOL STORY TIME

 

Up, Up & Away to Reading @ the SCPLS: Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It’s all about the green! Enjoy stories featuring the color green and frogs during story time. The color for the month is silver and the alphabet letters are S, T, & U. For more information, call Vickie Kelly at 365-1423.

·         Kodak Branch Library, 319 W. Dumplin Valley Road, Friday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m.  Up, Up & Away to Reading at the SCPLS: It’s a great day for a windy, flying story time! (week of March 28 - April 1)

The March story time theme for Sevier County Public Library System is “Up, Up & Away to Reading @ the SCPLS!” April’s theme is “It’s Raining Books @ the SCPLS!” Visit any branch of the Sevier County Public Library System in March & April to hear new stories and enjoy crafts and games for preschool children and their caregivers. During the week of March 28 – April 1, the King Family, Seymour Branch, and Kodak Branch Libraries will present preschool story time on the following days: 

·         Seymour Branch Library, 137 W. Macon Lane, Monday, March 28 – Up, Up & Away to Reading @ the SCPLS! Nutrition Month – It’s All about Good Food! Enjoy books about eating right with Mr. Spence during story time in Seymour at 11:00 a.m. The color for the month is jet silver. Review numbers 1 – 10. ·         King Family Library, 408 High Street, Sevierville. Thursday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. Up, Up & Away to Reading @ the SCPLS: Amelia Earhart & Airplanes! The April story time theme is “It’s Raining Books at the SCPLS!” Visit any branch of the Sevier County Public Library System in April to hear new stories and enjoy crafts and games for preschool children and their caregivers. During the week of April 4 - 8, the King Family, Seymour Branch, and Kodak Branch Libraries will present preschool story time on the following days:

Enjoy books about the weather and rain with Mr. Spence during story time in Seymour at 11:00 a.m. The color for the month is chick & duck yellow. Review numbers 1 – 10 and letters V, W, & X. ·         King Family Library, 408 High Street, Sevierville. Thursday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. It’s Raining Books at the SCPLS: April Showers! EnjoyAnna’s Rain by Fred Burstein and make a cloud craft during story time with Ms. Vickie. The color for the month is chick & duck yellow. Review numbers 1 – 10 and letters V, W, & X. ·         Kodak Branch Library, 319 W. Dumplin Valley Road, Friday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m.  It’s Raining Books at the SCPLS!: Earth Day Celebration! Parents are invited to bring their children and hear stories about Earth Day. April Story Times

The April story time theme is “It’s Raining Books at the SCPLS!” Visit any branch of the Sevier County Public Library System in April to hear new stories and enjoy crafts and games for preschool children and their caregivers. During the week of April 11 - 15, the King Family, Seymour Branch, and Kodak Branch Libraries will present preschool story time on the following days:

Enjoy the story about Dewey, the cat who lives in a library, with Mr. Spence during story time in Seymour at 11:00 a.m. The color for the month is chick & duck yellow. ·         King Family Library, 408 High Street, Sevierville. Thursday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. It’s Raining Books at the SCPLS: National Library Week!
