My Library Card: Checkout Rules
Checkout Periods
A total of 10 items may be checked out on each account at any given time. Up to 4 of these may be DVD or VHS.
Videos and DVDs: Checkout period is 7 days. The fine if late is $2 per day per item.
Books, books on tape or CD, music CDs: Checkout period is 3 weeks.
Reference materials do not circulate.
Loan rules may vary for special services such as Library Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
You may return your materials to any Sevier County Public Library Branch: Seymour, Kodak Branch or the Main Library.
If you forget your library card, identification is required to borrow materials.
You can renew books up to three times, as long as they are not on hold or new items (indicated with a colored circle on book spine). Books on tape, CDs and Videos may be renewed once. You may renew materials in your account by visiting or calling any SCPLS Branch. You will need your library card number to renew your items.
Children are not allowed to check out audio books, videotapes, DVDs or music CDs on their card.
Fines & Fees
Please return your materials on time. Overdue fines are:
25 cents a day for books, book packs and magazines.
$2 a day for all Videos and DVDs.
50 cents a day for books on tape and music Cds.
If an item is damaged or lost, the maximum fee will be the replacement cost of the item plus a $5.00 processing fee. If the replacement cost is less than $5.00, the processing fee will be equal to the relpacement cost.
Any cardholder who accumulates $5.00 or more in fines may not borrow materials until all fines over $5.00 are paid.

To avoid late fees, each branch location has a drop for books and a drop for videos. Please do not place videotapes, DVDs, audio books, or music CDs in the book drop. Items may be returned to any of the branch locations: Kodak, Sevierville, Seymour.
The Library reserves the right to refuse further service until overdue materials are returned and account balances are paid.
Available items may be placed on reserve at any of the libraries in the Sevier County Public Library System. You will be notified when the item becomes available and will have 7 days to pick up the item.
Approved users may pick up items on reserve for others after presenting a picture ID. An approved user is another resident of your household who is 18 or older. You must visit a library to designate an approved user for your account. You accept responsibility for all actions that occur as a result of this access.
